Arbaz, that balance you described, quiet out at the house but ten minutes from town, is exactly what we were after when we set the place up, so it is good to hear it landed. Next time you are down this way, try heading out to Enchanted Rock early on a Saturday morning, the summit before the crowds arrive is worth the alarm clock, and you can be back on the porch with coffee by mid morning. The Cates Cottage was a great place for our two-day getaway! It was conveniently located, easy to find and easy to get into and was a quick and easy drive into Fredericksburg. It was exactly like it looked in the pictures and everything was perfectly clean and well-appointed. The basket of snacks and the farm-fresh eggs (with carton provided to bring home any left-over eggs) were above and beyond what we have come to expect from even the nicer Airbnbs. We had a lovely stay! This cute little place was just what we needed for a few days in Fredericksburg. It was super clean and we felt right at home. Our favorite thing to do was sit outside on the porch, take in the hill county, and watch the deer. The farm fresh eggs were a lovely addition as well. We have stayed at several B and B’s in Fredricksburg over the years. Cates Cottage was by far the best in the area. It was immaculately clean, the AC and all appliances were first rate. The tub of deer corn on the spacious shaded porch was a nice touch, appropriate for the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We often make quick get-away trips to Fredericksburg. Sometimes,we stay in a hotel, sometimes we don’t. I perused the Airbnb website for a 1bdrm/1bath place that would be in a peaceful area. The Cates Cottage intrigued us and it did not disappoint. Peaceful, private, and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen space was great, the bathroom a great size with nothing lacking. This was an incredible stay, there is so much to do, and alot of complimentary items like the farm eggs, and getting to feed the animals. The bed is absolutely amazing, and the tv looked small online but is a bit bigger in person. Location was ideal too, about 10 minute drive to town square. The property was not totally secluded, but we felt far enough from the neighbors and had our own space. That bed gets mentioned constantly and rightfully so. On the heating, you are right that it takes longer to catch up on cold nights than the AC does cooling things down in summer, and we have a technician scheduled to service the heating system before the next cool stretch.
