Great place to stay especially for a big group. Loved the separate, private bedrooms combined with the multiple common areas to spend time together. Access to the river was very nice. Hot tub was easy and ready to go. Perfect place for our annual family gathering. Overall a great property. We came to host a work retreat and it worked out perfectly. Each 'room' has it's own outside entrance which helps with privacy and having your own unique space. Our only feedback is the same as others have said - not many kitchen supplies if you plan to cook. Also the grill pictured was not working but there was a backup grill available for use (albeit a smaller grill, but still worked!). Beautiful outlook to the river. Great house for a group. We had a fabulous time. House was great as the bedrooms are separate buildings from the living spaces meaning everyone can sleep in or stay up without disturbing the rest of the guests. We had a great stay! The place was wonderful, with all rooms detached and private, which gave everyone plenty of space. The additional game room was a big hit, and the firepit area was perfect for making s’mores and spending quality time together as a family. This beautiful Canyon Lake home was great for our five-family annual Thanksgiving gathering. The house had private and quiet bedrooms for everyone with several gathering spaces inside with the main and downstairs living areas and outdoors as well. We especially enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and grill area for several meals in addition to the indoor dining area where all of us sat together at the same table for Thanksgiving! The indoor living area was perfect for gameday football (or movies) and the adjacent seating area kept us together while playing board games. There is so much to do in the area and nearby, especially this time of year. Robin, five families around one Thanksgiving table is exactly what that house was built for, and I love that the outdoor fireplace pulled a few meals out of you too. Thanks for taking the time to send those kitchen notes privately. The microwave in the smaller oven is being serviced and the lower oven recalibrated, and a heavier set of pots and pans is on order along with extra cookware for big groups. Mattress toppers are going into the bedroom closets so folks can soften things up if they want. Come back in spring when the bluebonnets are out, that grill area is even better in April. This place was perfect for 15 women to do a little retreat. There was plenty of parking (we had at least 10 cars there) and it was easy to find. I didn't realize that ALL of the bedrooms were detached from the main house, but honestly it ended up being perfect for us. There is a main living area upstairs and a smaller one downstairs. There was TONS of outdoor seating. The hot tub/fire pit side was amazing and the area with the swings was so cute. The other side had two large tables for outdoor meals and an outdoor living area with a fireplace and grill. We loved the deck that overlooked the river and did yoga in the mornings in that spot. Jessica, fifteen women doing morning yoga on that river deck is exactly what the deck was built for, and hearing the detached bedrooms worked in your favor is good news. You also told us privately about the mildew smell downstairs, the towel left on a bathroom floor, running short on toilet paper, and a phone that rang out at two on a Thursday. All of that is fixed or fixing: a dehumidifier is running in the lower living area, paper stock has doubled, bathroom floors are now a final walkthrough item, and daytime arrival calls route to a line that gets answered live. Come back when it's cool enough for the fire pit and swings. Our returning guests always get 10% off, so that is yours the next time you book with us. What a beautiful place to stay on the Guadalupe River. The house had so many lovely gathering spots inside and out. Perfect for large groups. The bedrooms each have doors only accessible from the outside which worked beautifully. Although if it had been raining that might have been an issue, but the weather was perfect so it actually made each bedroom very private and quiet. Rebecca, those blackout shades are one of our favorite things about the house, so it is good to hear a whole group got to sleep in. You also flagged a musty smell in the downstairs rooms, and that is not something you should be living with. We have a dehumidifier running down there now and the HVAC system is being serviced to get to the source. We are also relocating trash bins closer to the house so nobody is hauling bags out to the road. Come back when the river is running strong, it is worth timing a trip around. Nice place, wish there were more cups and dishes in the game room kitchen. Trash is up a long hill. Lots of bugs but once it was cleared out it was fine. More wash clothes, kitchen towels, better paper towels and towel paper. The river was beautiful and the outdoor space was perfect. One room smelled like mold but there were enough beds to move around. All the pillows were very large and not for sleeping. There were no small bed pillows, everyone used the smallest decorative pillows to sleep . Very uncomfortable. Those are just little suggestion for a 6k for the weekend.Tawnie B. - Posted: 9/16/2024
