Kathleen, hearing that the house matched the photos is exactly what we want, because we shoot them ourselves and keep them current rather than dressing anything up. That quiet is the whole reason people find this stretch of the Hill Country. Next time you come, walk out past the porch after dark once your eyes adjust. The star cover out here is something else, and most guests never think to look up until someone tells them. We would be glad to have you back whenever you want that stillness again. Wow! This countryside home was just what we needed to relax. The wildlife we saw while sitting on the back porch was so peaceful. Deer, a fox, the cows (not wildlife but still fun to see) , and the verity of birds was amazing. The swinging chairs are an awesome addition from the last time we were there. The house is new, clean, and very well-appointed and maintained. We were very comfortable in the house. Our only issue was that there was no fenced-in backyard for our pup, and cows could roam the land, so there were a lot of cow patties. Other than that, the place is great, and the service is impeccable. We have already pulled the washer and dishwasher to address the mildew and the odor you noticed, both are sorted now. Excellent getaway spot. This is about a 25 minute drive from Fredericksburg. So if you’re looking for something scenic with peace & quiet, this is the place. LOTS of deer and a great place to watch the stars and sunrise. I recommend this if you want to be away from it all. Everything was as described in the listing. Greg, coming back for a second stay is the kind of thing that means more to us than any rating. The spot you picked sits right in that sweet spot, close enough to town for a good meal or some wine tasting, quiet enough at night that you can actually see the Milky Way from the yard. Glad the kitchen and living spaces held up for you both visits. Next time you are out, the fall nights in the Hill Country are something else for stargazing. I walked in to a very welcoming home. It’s as beautiful and clean. The bed was comfortable which means a lot considering most are not. The staff was on top of any problems at all. What little problems we had. And they were little problems. We had scorpions in the house which as soon as we told them about it, they were there fixing it. We found out from the locals, it is a possibility because it’s in the country, and we are secluded. We just had to make sure we shook everything out, and we didn’t walk barefoot in the cabin after we learned about them. After they treated the outside we didn’t have anymore problems, but I wanted to make sure others who stay there know, they are a possibility. That was absolutely the only other problem we had. And we were scared being from Northern Illinois. But we were taken care of every step of the way. No one was stung, and the only other cute critters we had in the back yard were cows, deer, and a cute lizard. We had a cow sleeping on the patio.Anonymous - Posted: 8/30/2025

The property was amazing, we had a great time. We sat out by the fire pit and had a calm night with pit turned on. We enjoyed the hot tub of relaxation and we enjoyed that it was so quite out here. No one bothered us. We were 20 mins into town and did wine tours, shopping and attended a concert. Over all we had a great friends trip . Letisia, a calm night at the fire pit with your friends and nobody around to bother you is exactly what that house is built for. Glad the check in and check out details reached you early and that you found the place spotless. Since the quiet is what you loved, get in the hot tub after dark with the yard lights off next time, the stars out here are worth staying up for. Come back in spring and that twenty minute run into town for wine and shopping is lined with wildflowers the whole way. Bring the same crew.
