This was an unforgettable stay! The property is so beautiful and private. The home was so cozy and reminded us of growing up in a small country town. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, walking around the property and hanging out down by the river. None of us wanted to leave. It is a short 15 minute drive to the town of Blanco where there are plenty of local restaurants. We will 100% book here again!

We were looking to replace a family home we could no longer use, in order to meet with various relatives. this was the perfect place. also, being out in the “bush” it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. it is a great place to be out in nature.

Our family came together at Old River Road from across the country for a thanksgiving feast and were pleased with the warmth and comfort for all, from the little kids to the grandparents. We lived in nearby Austin for many years and visited my mother and brother in Blanco during this time, and so learned about the beauty of the Blanco River region. Of course, we will be returning.

This place is wonderful—especially for groups! The home is gorgeous and special, and the ranch is so peaceful. We went to Fredericksburg a few times, but mostly enjoyed our time at the house. Be aware that it’s in the country, so expect bugs and critters, but otherwise completely wonderful.

From the moment we got there, the main house and guest house made us feel right at home! We had a blast hanging out on the front porch, soaking in those amazing views. The chapel was just the cutest place, full of intriguing history that really sparked our imaginations. And that gazebo by the river? What a gem! It was the perfect little hideaway to enjoy the beauty around us. The river flowed gently, letting us kick back on the river rocks and just soak up the peaceful vibe.
