The Homestead, originally built in the 1880's and just one block off Main St., is a stunning luxury estate which has undergone a recent total renovation. Located in the Historic District, the Homestead consists of two homes (The Main House and The Carriage House) two cottage suites (The Stables 1 & 2) and is ideal for couples, large groups, family reunions, or a friend's retreat.
The two cottage Suites (The Stables 1 & 2) are situated privately in the rear of the property and were designed for that perfect romantic getaway. Each have tastefully unique equine inspired décor, seating area for two, a lush king size bed with chandelier above, a luxurious marble and granite bath and a kitchenette with under counter fridge/freezer, sink, coffee maker, and microwave. A private fenced front porch with seating for two provides cozy seclusion and privacy. The Stables each have designated off-street parking spaces just steps from the door. Please note: the driveway and parking area are tight and may not comfortably fit larger vehicles such as trucks.
This prime location simply cannot be beat. Being within one block off Main St. means shops, wineries, and restaurants are all only a few minutes' walk out the front door!

Great place. Nice decor - well stocked. Very quiet- especially considering a major highway was one street over. Easy to walk over to Main Street for dining and shopping. We had an issue with no hot water, but they sent the awesome Hartley over and he got the water heater back on track. He was at the unit in about 20 minutes. Sizing a place right for a weekend matters more than square footage, and it sounds like this one hit it. Next time you are down this way, give yourself an extra morning and head out to the river access before the day heats up, then work back toward town for lunch. Plenty of good walking between the two. Millie, hearing the house felt clean and comfortable is exactly what we want, and it means the folks who turn it over got it right. The location is why a lot of guests pick this one, close enough to the wineries and the river without the noise of being right on top of them. Next time you come, take the morning walk down to the water before the day heats up, it is the quietest hour on the property and most people sleep through it. Loved the tall ceilings to make a small space feel large and comfy. Appreciated the little touches like 2 luggage racks, full size coffee pot, coffee grounds, bed side rugs, throw blanket and oscillating fan. Everything felt clean and well done. Plenty of space to not feel crowded. Nice big bathroom. I enjoyed sitting in the chairs and looking out the wall of windows to see the wind in the trees as the sun set. Very nice little home for a couple with very convenient access to Main Street. The entrance to the driveway to park your car is very steep and you cannot bring a low clearance car here so be careful with that. Luckily me and my fiance had brought our SUV. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Stables was beautiful…everything looked brand new. The shower was HUGE! Location was perfect. There’s a great coffee shop right around the corner. This was one of the best places we’ve stayed in Fredericksburg! It was extremely clean, Main Street was within walking distance, one of our new favorite restaurants was super close! If you are coming to Fredericksburg and want a Beautiful and peaceful place to stay that is easily walkable to Downtown, look no further. The space is beautifully done and has everything you could need for a weekend getaway.
